Entry #7. A "Fresh" Review!
Hello all, and welcome back to yet another blog! Today, we will be diving in and reviewing the 2009 documentary titled "Fresh."
So what is "Fresh"?
For those who need to learn what this documentary is about, the documentary displays farmers who utilize sustainable farming. If you are curious about what the farming industry is like and all of the truths that may make you take a second glance at the food you're eating, this film is definitely recommended. Aside from displaying farmers utilizing sustainable practices, we also see things within this film that may shock those unaware of certain farming aspects.
My review of "Fresh"!
Going into the film, I was unenthusiastic about what I was getting myself into. However, even from the first five minutes, I began questioning what I was eating. From the mass amounts of baby chicks that farmers take in yearly to the farmers not even knowing what's in the chick feed, many examples from just the beginning raised an eyebrow. The farmer at the beginning of the documentary stated that he didn't know what he was feeding them, but he knew it made the chicks grow faster. This farmer only cares about what they eat if it is produced more quickly. You begin to question if this is the same case for other types of farming.
Throughout the documentary, many examples make you raise an eyebrow again. But contrary to this type of farming, we also get a few instances where methods of agriculture are a bit more "sustainable," if you will.
This movie makes you double-take at the food you are consuming and left me more informed than I was before watching. Although I have more questions, it still prompted me to ask them. Aside from the negative aspects, the documentary leaves you with more hope, which is simply essential.
With that being said, This concludes this blog! Thank you for tuning in to another blog of Irv's Subconscious Thoughts! Return for more content like this.

I agree, that it is eye-opening and does make you wonder about the source of the farming and what happens before the food makes it home and to the table.
